MEET THE TEAM

OUR OFFICE

Chiropractic has been around for over a hundred years. It was founded back in 1895 by Daniel David Palmer, somewhat by chance. This is a fascinating story, as Palmer claimed to restore the hearing of a deaf janitor, Harvey Lillard, by replacing a segment in his spine that was ‘out of alignment’. From this he came up with the concept that misaligned spinal segments interfere with proper nerve function, and that ‘adjusting’ these segments back to their normal position restores nerve function. His original theories were based on the idea that dysfunctional spinal segments were ‘out of place’, or misaligned, and that this put pressure on the nerves exiting the spine. We now know that this theory is not really the best way to describe what a subluxation is.

As discussed, what we’ve come to understand is that we don’t really put bones back in place when we adjust the spine.

A vertebral subluxation is not so much the condition of a bone being out of place; it is more that a bone is functioning or moving in a less than ideal way – in a manner that is not ‘normal’ for the body. Just how this affects a person’s health and wellbeing will be explored in depth in another post. Today, over a hundred years on from that ‘first’ chiropractic adjustment, we know much more about how the brain and the rest of the central nervous system functions. And we are beginning to glimpse the big picture of how chiropractic adjustments really work.

TECHNIQUES

Chiropractic treatment is a non-invasive treatment that uses hands-on spinal manipulation techniques. This allows the body to heal itself without patients having to take many over-the-counter medications and avoid surgery.
The philosophy at our office has been one that involves a natural solution to healthcare needs with a large emphasis on education. Too often our current healthcare system is set up to merely relieve symptoms, with little understanding of the problem by the patient, and never exploring the true cause of the dysfunction or problem. This quick fix mentality has contributed to our nation’s demise in overall health. Ailments become chronic, costs continue to rise, and a solution is rarely found, while the patient is never really involved in the pursuit of their own wellness.
We do our best to teach the patient their responsibility in their healing process, and always make corrective recommendations. This is rewarding for the patient because they are always kept involved, which leads to superior outcomes in their pursuit of health.
Rancho Spine and Sport in Rancho Cucamonga is the leading chiropractic office in the area. Our commitment to our chiropractic services goes above and beyond to ensure your health is the best it can be.

ART® is a patented, state of the art soft tissue system/movement based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently with ART. These conditions all have one important thing in common: they are often a result of overused muscles.

This particular therapeutic process involves directing powerful, pulsed energy waves toward damaged or injured areas of the patient’s body.  These waves painlessly and quickly pass through the cells in the damaged region, increasing the spin of the electrons contained within them as a result.  It is this amplified electron spinning which restores the cell’s potential (its energy), regulating its volume at the same time. And, unlike some other forms of CAM, this positive cellular effect lasts for as many as four days after the treatment session has ended.  With that, PEMF therapy is: The induction of electricity into the cells to help stimulate or promote healing.

The exact mechanism of action of LLLT is not completely understood; however, there are several theories based on cellular research conducted over the last two decades or more. The basic premise is that LLLT stimulates cell activation processes which, in turn, intensify physiologic activity. Healing is essentially a cellular process and light energy initiates a cascade of reactions, from the cell membrane to the cytoplasm, to the nucleus and DNA. This is called cellular amplification; a phenomenon whose demonstration earned the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1994.

There are many biological processes that take place in tissues that have been shown to respond to LLLT in the 630-640 nanometer wavelength range. One of these processes is the enhancement of ATP production in the mitochondria, which provides more energy substrate for cellular healing and tissue recovery post injury. This wavelength has also been shown to decrease inflammatory mediators in wounds and increase endogenous endorphin release.

The BioCharger is a hybrid subtle energy revitalization platform that works to optimize your health, wellness, and athletic performance by aligning and balancing the energy of every cell in your body.

Each BioCharger session bathes your entire body with four distinct harmonious energy fields.  These transmitted energies have been proven to restore strength, stamina, coordination, and mental clarity.  With the BioCharger’s advanced technology, you can target a specific aspect of your wellbeing by selecting one of over 450 customized “recipes” from our cloud-based library, or even request a custom recipe from our expert development team.

The Kinesio taping is a definitive rehabilitative taping technique that is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process while providing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion as well as providing extended soft tissue manipulation to prolong the benefits of manual therapy administered within the clinical setting.

Kinesio tape is safe for populations ranging from pediatric to geriatric, and successfully treats a variety of orthopedic, neuromuscular, neurological and other medical conditions.

Kinesio taping is a therapeutic taping technique not only offering your patient the support they are looking for, but also rehabilitating the affected condition as well. By targeting different receptors within the somatosensory system, Kinesio tape alleviates pain and facilitates lymphatic drainage by microscopically lifting the skin. This lifting affect forms convolutions in the skin thus increasing interstitial space and allowing for a decrease in inflammation of the affected areas.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is Low Level Laser Therapy and How Does it Work?

Low-Level Laser therapy is the use of low intensity photonic energy as a treatment modality. It’s the use of low intensity photonic energy as a treatment modality. Photonic stimuli excite the body’s cells infusing them with energy, with the three primary reactions being, reduction of inflammation, cell regeneration and increased blood flow. Low Level Laser Therapy has is very safe, the only general precaution is the use of special filtering glasses when a class 3B laser is in use.

The potential applications of Low-Level Laser (3LT®) are almost limitless, however; to date Erchonia has received market clearance for Neck and Shoulder Pain, Lo back pain, Acne, Laser Assisted Liposuction, and Non-Invasive Body Contouring. Erchonia continues to conduct clinical trials on other applications. The FDA clears for market devices and specific indications for use, this is sometime referred to by persons outside the FDA as “FDA Approval”, although it is a term unacceptable to the FDA. All Erchonia devices have received a FDA market clearance or were self certified in accordance to FDA regulation.
